About the Role
The Senior Investigator is a key leader within Fractional Coordinator’s investigative and compliance practice. This role conducts independent, trauma-informed investigations into complex allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and misconduct under federal and state law, including Title IX, Title VII, ADA/504, and aligned institutional policies.
You’ll work directly with institutional partners to evaluate evidence, interview witnesses, assess credibility, and develop comprehensive investigative reports that reflect fairness, accuracy, and procedural integrity. This role requires strong analytical skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to communicate clearly and neutrally in high-stakes situations.

What You’ll Do
Lead impartial investigations involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations across education and workplace settings.
Conduct thorough interviews with complainants, respondents, and witnesses using trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
Review and analyze complex evidence, including documents, digital communications, and policies.
Prepare detailed investigative reports with clear findings of fact, credibility assessments, and rationale.
Ensure procedural fairness and compliance with federal and state regulations, institutional policy, and best practices.
Collaborate with institutional counsel, HR, and compliance officers to coordinate findings and next steps.
Provide consultation and training on investigation protocols, documentation standards, and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate, confidential case documentation in case management systems (e.g., Maxient, i-Sight, or Case IQ).
Identify patterns or systemic issues that may inform policy or process improvements for clients.
Who You Are
You have 5+ years of experience conducting civil rights, employment, or Title IX investigations.
You have deep knowledge of federal and state laws governing discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and equity compliance.
You demonstrate excellent judgment, analytical rigor, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear findings.
You are skilled in trauma-informed interviewing and evidence-based credibility assessment.
You are a strong writer who can produce clear, neutral, and defensible reports.
You maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and respect for all parties involved.
You are proficient with case management systems and digital documentation tools.
You thrive in a mission-driven, remote environment and can balance independence with collaboration.
Advanced degree preferred (J.D., LL.M., M.A. in Higher Education, Public Policy, or related field).
Certifications such as ATIXA Civil Rights Investigator, EEOC EEO Investigator, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Salary Range: $108,000–$138,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
